Higher Broughton Farm Barns – new proposals

The Crown Estate presented their new proposals for the development of Higher Broughton Barn Farm Barns, at a village meeting on 10th October 2024.

Published: 14 October 2024

Villagers gathered in the Village Hall on the evening of Thursday, 10th October, to hear about the latest proposals from the Crown Estate and Savills for this site, which has been deteriorating since 2018.

See the Crown Estate’s power point presentation here (this includes their drawings).  In short, the proposal includes the demolition of the existing sheds, and development of six residential units ;  2 x bungalows, 2 x 3 bed semis, and 2 x 2 bed semis, all set in a courtyard setting.

On the whole, the village was positive about the proposals, although there were some reservations/concerns expressed.  Given this feedback, the Crown Estate will now further develop their plans, with a view to submitting a planning application in 2025.

The Parish Council is grateful to the Crown Estate and Savills for taking the time to present their plans.
